Abstract

Introducción: Los antiinflamatorios no esteroides (AINEs) son una familia de fármacos ampliamente utilizados por sus efectos analgésicos, antipiréticos y antiinflamatorios. Cuentan con un buen perfil de seguridad cuando se consumen en dosis recomendadas; sin embargo, su uso frecuente, en muchos casos sin prescripción médica o sin el seguimiento adecuado, puede llegar a generar efectos adversos variados, entre ellos alteraciones en la función hepática. Objetivo: Analizar los parámetros bioquímicos hepáticos (AST, ALT, fosfatasa alcalina y bilirrubina total) en pacientes consumidores de antiinflamatorios no esteroideos para establecer una posible relación con la hepatotoxicidad. Materiales y métodos: Estudio con diseño exploratorio de tipo descriptivo y corte transversal en el que se evaluaron enzimas hepáticas mediante métodos cinéticos y colorimétricos a pacientes que consumen AINEs con frecuencia. Resultados: Se observaron alteraciones bioquímicas compatibles con patrón colestásico leve; sin embargo, no se evidenció asociación estadísticamente significativa entre consumo de AINEs y alteraciones hepáticas en esta muestra. Conclusiones: Se asociaron considerables variaciones de enzimas hepáticas por el consumo de AINEs, en este contexto es fundamental el monitoreo periódico en pacientes que hacen uso de antinflamatorios ya mencionados.
